IN THE SPLENDID CITY OF LUGANO NESTLED BENEATH CASTAGNOLA
In the splendid city of Lugano, nestled beneath Castagnola, the Villa Favorita is built along 800 metres of lakeside and occupies an area of 40,000 m2. Within the grounds lies a verdant Mediterranean park featuring palm trees, magnolia and camellia, as well as cedar, cypress and pine trees.
VILLA FAVORITA
The Villa Favorita Park comprises nine buildings constructed between 1687 and 1932 which reflect the architectural style of Romanticism typical of this region bordering the lakes of northern Italy. Besides the magnificent Villa Favorita, which has belonged to a succession of illustrious families throughout history and is now owned by Baroness Thyssen-Bornemisza, the park is also home to a number of other prestigious villas, occupied by the families of major European entrepreneurs.
ARCHI DI LUCE
During the planning of the Archi di Luce project, the architects paid particular care and attention to the respect and enhancement of the surrounding landscape and environment, following a principle of non-intrusiveness and continuity regarding the area’s distinguishing features.
A Mediterranean micro-climate, together with the peace and privacy of the area make Archi di Luce a veritable paradise on earth.
